Overview

The trip combines adventurous mountain areas together with cultural heritage of Georgia. Tour combines all major medieval ecclesiastical and state monuments.


Beginning from Tbilisi family will enjoy amazing historical monuments of old town, the petting zoo, botanical garden with zip line. Exploration of preserved medieval huts in open air Ethnographical Museum will send each visitor to a fairytale.


Whole family will enjoy entertaining and authentic stories, while being in village Stepantsminda surrounded by giants of the Caucasus.

Journey is filled with numerous activities for all, like: fishing, hunting, horseback riding, rafting and even off-road driving.

Itinerary


Day 1 - Arrival 1

Arrive in Tbilisi. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 – Tbilisi Sightseeing Tour

Breakfast at hotel. Sightseeing of Tbilisi, capital city since 5th century; explore old town, cable-car journey up to 4th century Narikala fortress, stroll in Botanical garden, with zip line,*optional visit at sulfur bathes for SPA treatment. Stroll in old town, visit petting zoo, art and carpet salons, enamel galleries, wine tasting at one of the wine bars. Visit Georgian National Museum of history and arts. Evening stroll in an open air Ethnography Museum. Welcome dinner with folk performance in Georgian restaurant. Overnight at hotel

Day 3 - Mtskheta – The Former Capital

Breakfast in hotel. Depart to Mtskheta, the former capital, important political and cultural center from 3rd century BC recognized by UNESCO as the world heritage site. Visit 6th century Jvari monastery, Svetitskhoveli cathedral and 11th century Samtavro nunnery. Make the drawings/pictures.

Continue to the north to Ananuri castle, epicenter of numerous battles from 13th century. Today attracts visitors with its unique architecture and perfect location. Drive along Aragvi river to resort Gudauri. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 4 – Explore Stepandsminda (*Former Kazbeg)

After breakfast drive over Jvari Pass 2380 m. to Stepandsminda, (*former Kazbeg). Horse ride to Gergeti Trinity church, dated from 14th century, located at 2180 m. Enjoy the stunning view of Mt. Kazbeg 5047 m. Hike 2-3 hr to Gveleti waterfalls.

Drive to Dariali to visit newly restored Dariali monastery. Explore felt production, taste mountain herbal tea and jams. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Stepantsminda.

Day 5 – 4x4 Off-Road or Biking to Truso Valley

Breakfast in hotel. Off-road jeep tour combined with light hiking or optional biking to Truso valley. Explore mineral springs, ancient towers and several abandoned settlements. Barbeque stop with wine return back Stepantsminda. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 6-7 – Exploration of Sno & Juta villages - Chaukhi Massif

All meals and overnights at base camp in Juta village at 2200 m. During these two days exploration of wild life. Fishing in Sno village. Hiking and climbing to Chaukhi Massif. Draw landscapes or take pictures. Dialogues about the Georgian language, history and script at campfires with barbeque and wine.

Day 8 – Rafting Day

Breakfast at camp. Half day rafting on Aragvi River, with barbeque and beer. Lot’s of entertainment options are available for kids at the base camp.

Drive back to Tbilisi. Dinner at traditional Georgian restaurant with folk performance. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9 – Free Day

Breakfast at hotel. Free day for own arrangements.
