Georgia is known for delicious cuisine and various sorts of wines. However, only a few have experienced the whole process beginning from farming ending to final eatable product.
Adventure starts from cheese making in central region Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti. Observe how delicately is collected the milk for cheese. On the way visit important ancient fortresses and monuments with only superior aim to taste endemic red wine. Visiting rock hewn 12th century city Vardzia provides a good reason to visit local farms baking extraordinary bread. Georgians can’t leave without bread & cheese, accordingly next station is nunnery in Poka, where nuns are making extraordinary cheese sorts, by forgotten Georgian recipes.

Day 1 - Arrival 1
Arrival in Tbilisi. Transfer to hotel for overnight.
Day 2 – Kartli Wines
Breakfast in hotel. Drive to former capital Mtskheta the cultural center from 3rd BC and today the UNESCO world heritage site. Continue to village Chardakhi for tasting white wine made from endemic variety of grapes. Drive to Uplistsikhe the cave city and first settlement in Georgia from ancient times. After excursion visit cheese factory, beginning from milk gathering till final product. Dinner and overnight at guesthouse in village Klde.
Day 3 – Cheese making farms
Breakfast in guesthouse. Excursion to Rabati castle restored recently and awakening the lifestyle of 13th century. Visit cheese making farm in the village Chobareti. Enjoy imporessive view of river Mtkvari gorge from the top of plateu where pre-Christian fortress and church are located. Drive toward cave city Vardzia from 12th century, visit Khertvisi fortress en-route. Dinner at nearby farmhouse with bread baking and wine tasting services. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 4 – Georgian Bread Baking
Breakfast in guesthouse. Stroll up to the cave city Vardzia from 12th century, a complex with rock hewn chambers, streets and hidden routes. After excursion participate in local bread baking together with barbeque. Drive up to Lebisil architectural complex secretly hidden during invasions in the past. Today favorite destination for travelers searching picturesque views or historical destinations. Dinner with characteristic cheese tasting and short discussion at farmhouse. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5 – Cheese Making & Wine Tasting
Breakfast in guesthouse. Drive back to Tbilisi, visit Ninotsminda church en-route. Visit Poka Nunnery taste their handmade assortments of cheese and wine made by century long recipies. Discover revival of traditional Cloisonné enamel technology made by nuns. Drive to small village Santa near to village Tsalka, where whole community is producing special cheese, on of Dutch types. Return to Tbilisi. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 6 - Cheese Making & Wine Tasting
Breakfast in hotel. Drive to royal town Signaghi from 18th century. Enjoy sightseeing from local winery, of course, with acknowledging with eastern dry wines and cheese assortment. Continue towards Telavi city the center of Kakheti region. Visit Velistsikhe village known for functioning wine cellar from 16th century. Here visitor is invited to enjoy Georgian traditional dancing performance together with dinner. Overnight at guesthouse in village Ikalto.
Day 7 – Georgian Potter Making
Breakfast in hotel. Excursion to Ikalto monastery and academy from 12th century. Drive towards village Atskuri to attend exclusive pottery making performance. Continue to 11th century Alaverdi cathedral, founded in 6th century by Assyrian monk. Drive to Telavi for the center of Kakheti region for cheese tasting and visiting house museum of noble family. Dinner and overnight at guesthouse or hotel in Ikalto or Telavi respectively.
Day 8 – Tbilisi Sightseeing
After breakfast in guesthouse or hotel. Drive back to Tbilisi via Gombori pass. Sightseeing tour of old town. Free evening. Overnight at hotel.
