Overview
Journey circles Kakheti province, east Georgia - the main wine producing region in the country. Within this tour exlore famous traditional and modern wineries and vineyards will be explored, tasting of different labels of Georgian wine will be offered and great opportunity will be provided to participate in wineproducing process. Be aware of Georgian toasts, they are numerous! But the most important and popular toasts are the toasts of peace, guests, friends, ladies, family members, relatives and motherland. Archaeological excavations have confirmed Georgia’s vast experience in agriculture and viticulture Grape seeds were found here from 5th millennium BC.

Day 1 - Arrival 1
Arrival in Tbilisi. Transfer to hotel for overnight.
Day 2 - Tbilisi-Singnaghi-Telavi
Drive to Kakheti province, the famous wine producing region Exploration of Signaghi royal town, built in 18th century by king Erekle II; Wine tasting at the local
Wine-cellar with *optional folk performance; continue to Gurjaani for lunch and wine-tasting; Participation in making process of Khinkali – meat dumpling and “Churchkhela” - traditional sweaty Use a chance to particiapte in “Chacha” production a local vodka distilled from the fermented residue of grapes after they have been pressed in winemaking. Excursion to “Gurjaani Kvelatsminda” church dated to 8th century; transfer to Telavi. Visit Wine Museum en-rout. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 3 - Telavi – Tsinandali – Kvareli
Breakfast in camp. Early morning trek starts from camp site in Khevsureti. Trek along Khonistkali river over Atsunda pass 3431m to Tusheti region, reaching the first, half abounded villages of Tusheti: Girevi and Parsma. Picnic lunch en-route. Trek to village Chesho. Dinner and overnight at camp and simple local guesthouse(s) in Chesho.
Day 4 - Kvareli – Tbilisi
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Gremi architectural complex dated to 16-17th centuries. Transfer to Tbilisi.. After lunch sightseeing tour of Tbilisi, capital city since 5th century; excursion to the Georgian National Museum of history and Art. Visit Old Town: Metekhi church of 13th century, Sulfur bathes, Narikala fortress of 4th century, Old Synagogue; free evening for own arrangements. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5 - Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Kutaisi
Breakfast at hotel. Wine tour continuesto explore the wineries and wine cellars of west Georgia. The aim is toidentify differences in tastes and technology of production between eastern and wester wine sorts. Drive to the old capital of Mtskheta en-route. The city known as a political and cultural center from 3rd century BC, the UNESCO world heritage Site. Stroll in a city center and excursion to 11th century Svetitskhoveli cathedral, architectural and 6th century Jvari monastery overlooking the city built right at the confluence of two rivers.
Transfer to western part of Georgia province and visit one of the family wineries for wine tasting. . Transfer to Kutaisi for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 - Kutaisi – Ambrolauri – Oni
After breakfast drive to Racha province, famous region producing Khvanchkara
wine. Excursion to Nikortsminda cathedral dated to 1010-1014, famous for its mural decoration. Visit Ambrolauri wine factory for wine tasting and excursion. Continue to Oni, administrative centre of Racha province. Visit family wine cellar for wine tasting. Dinner and overnight at guesthouse.
Day 7 - Oni – Utsera –Shovi –Tbilisi
Breakfast in hotel. Drive to explore mountainous Racha region, and important resorts like Utsera and Shovifamous for thermal springs. Transfer to Tbilisi. Visit one of the biggest wineries of west with wine tasting En-route. Late evening arrival to Tbilisi. Farewell dinner at traditional restaurant with folk performance. Overnight at hotel.
